Welcome to Still Calling My Mom!

Hello and welcome to Still Calling My Mom! This blog is a personal blog aimed to discuss the difficult, beautiful, humorous, crazy, and exciting things that take over our lives throughout our twenties. In addition to that, I want you to know a little about me before diving through the depths of my own mind as I lay it out in this blog.

My name is Megan Lashley, and I am 22 years old. I am from a small town in Southeast Missouri. I married my high school sweetheart in May of 2025. We have been together for almost seven years now, but that is not without any hardships. I have two of the most precious little wiener dogs named Hank and Sally. Besides them, I don’t have any other children. My mother is my lifeline; I communicate with her every day of my life. Hence the name of this blog. Everything I have ever done or found success in, she has been right there by my side, cheering me on and guiding me in the right direction. I have three older brothers but no sisters. Having that sister-like connection has always been something I have looked for in friendships. It took me 18 years to find that connection, and it was with my freshman year college roommate. I enjoy reading, watching TV shows and movies, and exercising.

I graduated from Mineral Area College in Park Hills, Missouri, with my associate’s degree in teaching, and I am currently working towards finishing my bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies at Central Methodist University in Fayette, Missouri. I have worked at a family-owned gas station since 2023, as well as working at an elementary school as a K–2nd special education paraprofessional since 2024. After having worked for almost two years in a classroom, I have decided that teaching isn’t for me. I changed my degree in pursuit of a career that allows me to do what I genuinely enjoy doing, which is creating. In the meantime, I am working two jobs, juggling schoolwork, keeping up with my little family, searching for a new job to kickstart my career, and happily managing this blog.
